Iceland

I recently had the pleasure of stopping over in Iceland for a few days on the way back from a trip to Denmark.

Despite 3 days of rain and almost not having a rental car I was thrilled by the unspoiled, natural beauty of this fascinating island.

Landscapes change every 10 minutes from rolling green hills and waterfalls to fields of black volcanic rock covered in soft green moss shadowed by jagged cliffs. It wasn't surprising to find out that an Apollo crew used this landscape to practice moon walking.

The highlight of the trip was spending an hour soaking in the blue lagoons mineral waters. Hard to believe this man made wonder is really the downstream waters of a power station.
